Blackstone
Dragons,
magic, the Middle Ages, and all that is gothic was the inspiration
for this design. I originally inked all of the characters by
hand and submitted the full set to the the 1988 Chartpak
Typeface Design Competition and actually won the contest
along with 10 other winners. Blackstone was reproduced as Chartpak's "Designer
Series" tranfer
lettering sheets (anyone remeber those?). I spent a
few months digitizing the originals and the font is now available
in Postscript and TrueType with additional characters and dingbats. Blackstone also
has a number of interesting alternate characters. Check
out the 2004 addition to the family: Blackstone X.
